BIOLOGY

Bio I introduces grade 9 students to the study of life.

NOTE: All students must take Biology to meet science graduation requirements.

ADVANCED COURSE OPTIONS

AQUATIC SCIENCE

Aquatic Science is the multidisciplinary (e.g., biology, chemistry, physics, geology, etc.) study of Earth's oceanic and freshwater ecosystems. This course is open to grade 10, 11, and 12 students.

Prerequisite: Bio, Chem is recommended

SCIENCE OF COUNTRY LIFE

Science of Country Life offers students the opportunity to take a deep scientific (e.g., biology, chemistry, physics, geology, etc.) dive into student chosen rural traditions and/or skills. This course is open to grade 10, 11, and 12 students.

Prerequisite: Bio, Chem is recommended

BIOMEDICAL SCIENCE

Biomedical science combines the fields of biology and medicine in order to take a deep dive into the health of humans and animals. This course is open to grade 11 and 12 students.

Prerequisite: Bio, Chem is recommended

INTRODUCTION TO BIOCHEMISTRY/CVTC Intro to Biochem 806/186

Biochemistry is the study of chemical substances and processes that occur in living organisms. This course is open to grade 11 and 12 students.

Intro to Biochem is articulated with Chippewa Valley Technical College's Intro to Biochemistry 806-186 allowing students to earn 4.0 CVTC college credits.

Prerequisite: Biology (B- or higher) and Chemistry (B- or higher)
